RIFT VALLEY ACADEMY

MISSIONARY BENEDICTINE SISTERS, PRIMARY SCHOOLS. RUARAKA  AND KIMUMU, ELDORET

After designing kindergartens for these two institutions, DMJ Architects were asked to design and coordinate the construction of  a primary school for the Sisters at Ruaraka and another at Eldoret.

The Ruaraka campus comprises a main block of 12 classrooms including IT labs, science classrooms, a library, a domestic science room and staff rooms. In addition, there is a dining hall and kitchen with a gymnasium and changing rooms above.

The Kimumu Campus has a similar main building to Ruaraka with space left for a future boarding house, dining and gym facilities, staffrooms and administration buildings.

USIU

After the university decided to relocate from their original campus in Parklands, DMJ Architects were asked to master plan the new university campus at Kasarani. This not only provided facilities for the academic and administrative facilities, but also provision for boarding houses. Many of the early structures were prefabricated to allow for a speedy translocation. Besides the Dr. Beam library, we also designed a 1000 pax capacity auditorium.
